Van Kampen & Crowe's health care practice focuses on medical staff and peer review, licensure and disciplinary proceedings, and antitrust counseling and litigation. Our lawyers also are experienced in fraud and abuse and the Stark laws. We have represented all varieties of physicians and health care providers.
Our lawyers often represent physicians who are subject to medical staff inquiries, investigations and peer review proceedings. We have handled such matters from beginning to end, from the hospital side and the physician side, and from the start of an inquiry to appeal and court proceedings.
We defend health care providers in state disciplinary investigations and proceedings. We have successfully handled licensure actions brought against many different health care providers, including medical doctors, podiatrists and naturopaths.
Our antitrust expertise has been applied to the mergers of health care entities, and the formation of physician networks, joint ventures, IPAs, PPOs, and other health care organizations. We also have successfully litigated antitrust cases for individual providers and hospitals, and represented health care providers in state antitrust investigations.
Our lawyers have advised health care providers on many aspects of the relationships among providers and institutions, including referral restrictions, reimbursement, managed care, participating provider and service agreements, employment, recruitment, and assistance to individual providers.
There are no guaranteed outcomes in the law. Every case is different, and the results obtained will depend upon the specific facts and circumstances of a client's situation.
